Poem in Stanzas

Staring out at long waters,
Waves wash answers to shore,
Crashing on
Sharp and blunt rock ledges,
Soaking into the sand,
Truths.

Knees freckle, dimpled
By tiny sandy rock
Applied body pressure
While these hands
Through wet piles
Searched.

Later, dried sand haunts
Hiding in ears, on scalp,
With nails,
Biting tight lycra spandex bands,
Only true dent as
Proof.

They don't follow you home,
They stay, escape, sink, float.
Don't worry, I saw truth
On the horizon,
Thin...elastic...
Endless.

Burning the water's surfaces,
Branding the smell of
Unseen
Lands, sight of top hats and
Building steeples, spires
Unfinished.

Scattered in every direction,
Floating on the rippling waves,
Sinking
And stung on coral fingers,
Splashing back to sky,
Condensed

In clouds, not fluff
But moist and
Vapid.
Sometimes truths
Hide
In shadows only to shine,
Unwanted,

Through gaps of
Gasping
Shocked curtain,
They dull fabric.

Should have spread
Softly through
Dark
Patches beneath billowing trees.
